The Royal town Slany is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located about 25 km northwest of Prague. The town is situated in the Slany Plain (northwestern part of a geomorphologic whole called the Prague Plain). |

The origin of the town of Slan? is ascribed to the discovery of a salt spring. The old chronicles state that already in tha year 750 a settlement came isto existence in the area under the Slan? Hill. Step by step this settlement began to acquire more and more importance.
